Call for Entries – VOICES Mobile Film Festival

Celebrate The Inspiring Voices of Women

  

Concept: Create a 1- 2 minute promo, shot on a mobile device, about a woman who inspires you or who has an interesting story to tell. You must incorporate into your project the tag-line – Use Your Voice for Change or Our Voices Can Make a Difference.

The Rules Are:

1. The video must be shot on a mobile device, such as the iPhone, Android, iPod Touch, iPad, etc.

2. Length must not exceed 2 minutes.

3. You can us software of your choice to edit video and audio.

4. You can use software of your choice for color correction or special effects.

5.You can and we encourage you to use external microphones, wide angle lens, tripod, dolly, etc.

This is supposed to be fun! Take the opportunity to expand your skills!

How To Enter: You must sign up for the VOICES Mobile Film Festival by sending an RSVP to tammy@denverfilm.org additional information will be provided upon your email.

Deadline for submissions is Monday, February 25th, 2013   

  

The MacSpa Mobile Moviemaking Workshop & Info Meeting: Wednesday, January 9 at 6pm.

You are encouraged to attend this meeting. Basic information on the Voices Mobile Film Fest will be discussed and The MacSpa of Denver will give a quick workshop and overview of shooting and editing on mobile devices. Go to the Facebook Event.

 

VOICES Mobile Film Fest Format: Completed movies will be posted and showcased on-line starting Monday, February 25th. A jury from The MacSpa will evaluate entries and the top 14 films will play as shorts before films at the VOICES Film Festival in March 2013. Winners will be announced after Monday, February 25.

The MacSpa Mini Film Fest Prep Course:

The MacSpa specializes in training for you and your Mac, iPad, and iPhone. As a sponsor of the Voices Mobile Film Festival contest they are offering informational meetings and training sessions to help make your entry shine.

- Participants will be offered 3 informational and training sessions for a discounted rate of $60 to assist with their video projects. 

- Participants are not required but are encouraged to take these discounted courses in order to help make their entries great.

- In these sessions participants will learn the specifics of making a movie on a mobile device, including importing, editing, adding sound and voiceover, audio and video quality, what equipment to use, and other tips and techniques. In this group setting, participants will be able to ask questions, get ideas, and share information with other participants.

- Participants will also have access to buy or rent special equipment for mobile devices such as microphones, lenses, or tripods.

The goal is to educate each person so the skills and information they learn in these sessions will be a long-term benefit.

Participants in this program will also have an opportunity to extend their individual learning by taking more classes at an exclusive rate:

Individual training rates: $420 for 6 hours in our Spa; $495 for 6 hours at your location
